EARLY BRASS BOUND CAMPAIGN WRITING SLOPE




















Constructed of early, ribbon grain ,solid Mahogany. The exterior brass adornments are inlaid and screwed down, which is indicative of quality craftsmanship.
It has recessed brass ,military style handles.There is an exterior secret drawer that cannot be accessed until the main box is opened with a key and a brass pin released.
An interior secret drawer is hidden beneath the gold embossed leather writing surface.
There are two lidded compartments for pens , nibs stamps etc.
It retains its original makers label—A lion and Unicorn crest from the workshop of T. Handford, London, established 1797. The label reads 


“ T. HANFORD’S IMPROVED WRITING DESK MANUFACTORY ”
